Rodin’s sculptures highlight musculature and movement with subjects often assuming contorted positions. His work is frequently sighted as paving the way for the modern sculpture movement of the 20th century. Although his love life was not as hot as Picasso’s, Rodin had an amour fou with fellow artist Camille Claudel that has stirred up some contemporary dramatizations. Limousine and limousine car services brought actors to the 1989 movie “Camille Claudel,” inspired by Rodin’s love interest.

  • Odd and even gas distribution to NYC residents

With the madness of last week’s Hurricane Sandy and the nor’easter, NYC has begun their odd and even gas rationing. The storm hit the fuel network intensely and knocked out important infrastructure needed to distribute gas to victims of the storm and its surrounding areas. Even as the region’s petroleum infrastructure gradually goes back to normal, the gasoline supply continues to be a sincere issue for thousands of New York drivers. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg believes that this can be the best way to slash down the lines and assist customers in buying gas faster.

Finding ways to get Around the Tri-state Area with Gas Shortage

Bloomberg and officials in the Long Island counties of Nassau and Suffolk began the odd-gas rationing arrangement at 6 a.m. Friday to relieve the unrelenting gasoline shortages in the stir of storm Sandy. The strategy means that gasoline will be available to drivers with licenses plate numbers ending in an odd number.  And Saturday began the days for gas services for drivers with plate numbers ending in an even number. Bloomberg stated that only 25 percent of the city’s gas stations were open and estimated the shortage could last another few weeks, making make it less than convenient to travel around the tri-state but will have to do.

The Mayor’s office claimed that the provisional odd-even system would in fact remain in effect until further notice. Emergency vehicles, commercial vehicles, limo transportation services, buses, vehicles licensed by the Taxi and Limousine Commission, and medical doctor plates are exempt.

  • Limo services can drive victims to Airing free housing program locations

Hurricane Sandy’s floodwaters waters have backed off, however some victims are still at this point left without a home. Those put of place in New York City now have the option to use the rental site Airing to find free temporary housing and can use reliable transportation services to drive them to their Airing free housing locations. Airing is a very fast-growing site that permits their users to rent out a section or all of their homes for victims of Sandy and the nor’easter. Renters typically pay for the rooms in advance, but now in the Donated Sandy Housing program that launched for victims on Wednesday, hosts are offering up their homes at no cost.

Approximately 140 Airing site users had opened there homes to New York City area Sandy victims as of 4:45 p.m. ET, curtly after the program launched. Proposals ranged from spare beds in New Jersey to whole two-bedroom apartments in Manhattan to luxe Brooklyn lofts.  Airing is citing free housing options, decorated with bright pink $0 price tags. Airing is nixing their regular booking fees for these free listings. People heading to the listings are also reaching out to convenient transportation services to get them there. Airing has already relinquished its fees for both hosts and renters in sectors hit by Hurricane Sandy.

Limo services to help victims photoThe company proclaimed that nearly 2,500 last-minute bookings have been made in affected areas since the storm and bout 900 of those bookings were in New York City. About 300 were made by city residents reserving space elsewhere in the city and using limo and car services to drive them there. After such disasters like Hurricane Sandy and the nor’easter, there can be several moments where victims feel like the world isn’t listening to them. The severity of the victim’s conditions has not disappeared, and it’s very imperative for those people to have a place to stay warm and feel protected.

  • Tri-state Airport & Road Transportation Haulted Again by Storm

Tri-state area residents in NY, NJ, CT and surrounding areas faced another tumultuous storm. Citizens suffered through Superstorm Sandy, and now a nor’easter. Sandy already destroyed and damaged their homes, but they had at last gotten their power back after about a week of nothing and many were finally able to travel around Connecticut and along the Northeast. Occupants in the area had endured the cold and the dark but were getting some warmth finally. And then the power was stripped from them again.

Northeast was prepared for another storm

Northeast residents faced another big hit photoA nor’easter ripped through the same region where homes got flooded, a mass of power outages and extensive damage happened last week, casting the same area in snow – as much as 13 inches in some parts of Connecticut and New Jersey. High winds ranged from 45 to 75 mph in Northeastern states and trembled the already wet and frail trees. Branches collapsed on power lines, making the lights flicker in homes where countless people thought they were finally free of any more darkness. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg had sounded the fear all along. Bloomberg avidly alerted residents Tuesday that damaged areas already hit by Sandy could see more water, wind and now snow, creating new devastation. He strongly advised people to stay inside and get off the roads and they listened. Connecticut and NYC counties airport transportation services were limited in travel but still catered to those needing to get the airport or home.Workers and car service get to work in the nor'easter image

The good news is that crews and car services in Connecticut and NYC counties were prepared and going at it again this Thursday morning to restore power. The sun is beaming down on the snow, which is helping the ice melt and keeping residents a bit warmer. The bad news, however is the storm is heading up the coast, and residents in Massachusetts will get some major winds coming their way and the storm front is lingering over the northern area of New Hampshire and Maine, delivering some more inches of snow to them.

  • Travel in NY, NJ, and CT has Slowed, Lowering Gas Prices

Gas prices drop due mostly to the devastating Superstorm Sandy and re-elected president Barack Obama is doing everything he can to help the victims of Sandy. The overall average U.S. price for a gallon of regular gasoline took a major drop since 2008 in the past two weeks. This is partly due to the lower rudimentary oil prices and Hurricane Sandy. Gasoline prices averaged slightly over $3.54 per gallon Friday and then down 20.75 cents from Oct. 19 when drivers were paying $3.75 at the pump.

Finding it Difficult to Travel in NY, NJ, and CT

Although numerous people had waited in line for gasoline for hours after Sandy demolished much of the Northeast coast, the storm played a share in the price decline because several consumers were not able to travel as a result. While demand seemed to be awfully high for gasoline after the storm, purchases were down because many people traveling in NY, CT, and NJ found it impossible to get around and had to stay put.

However, supply scarcities were not causing a boost in the average priGas prices drop due to sandy and Obama helps victims photoce of gasoline. It could have been the worry among retailers that they would have been accused or indicted for price gouging if they had raised prices due to Sandy. It will be a long and hard recovery for infrastructure, but as Obama proved in helping Gov. Christie in New Jersey, there can and will be help and turnaround for those that live or are traveling in CT and the tri-state area in the near future.

  • New Jersey Residents Permitted to Vote Via E-mail or Fax

Hurricane Sandy Makes Citizens Vote by Fax or E-mail imageNew Jersey residents are permitted to vote in Tuesday’s elections via e-mail or fax, since they are in shambles from Superstorm Sandy. This is the first time ever citizens in the state have been consented to vote remotely. Regardless of security concerns and scrutiny, the state feels it will be easier for voters and the workers.

E-Mail or Fax Votes Allowed for Those Without Transportation

Due to the flooding and power outages that Superstorm Sandy left residents of New Jersey with, the e-mail or faxing of votes are meant to cater to the victims of Sandy and for the workers helping the non-stop disaster reliefs. The storm sufferers qualify as oversea voters and allows them to vote remotely if they’re not able to find transportation to the polls. Residents still have to fill out a ballot application and it needs to be approved by the county clerk. Once it is approved the county clerk returns it back to the voter who has to return it back before 8 p.m. Tuesday.Transportation around NJ area picture

Critics argue that there may be hacking involved and that it leaves no paper trail. However, in numerous states online voting is promptly available to military and to U.S. citizens living abroad. Superstorm Sandy has left many New Jersey residents unable to travel, many of which who have had to rely on a car or transportation service to get around, so e-mail or faxing their vote as their best option.
