A Blow Up, Over Gas!

The gas explosion that reportedly happened on Thursday night was considered “the miracle on main street”.

Six gas pumps were destroyed when an SUV ran over a median, struck two other vehicles and then barreled into six gas pumps at the Phillips 66 on Main Street in East Hartford just yesterday, August 27th, 2015.

“We look out the window from the restaurant and it’s just flames shooting up… gas shooting up, tires are melting, cars melting,” said Thomas DeCrescenzo, who saw the aftermath of the crash. “We didn’t know if the whole place was going to go up, and the gas lines.”

A gas station attendant told reporters that the driver of the SUV walked away with a pinky injury. “There was no significant injuries, said Fire Chief Silver. Though the huge explosions from the lines under the ground, the fire was said to be under control in 10 minutes.

The fire marshal and state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection are investigating.

- Danbury Fair Fireworks: This event will include two concerts: Fast Ricky (6-8pm) & The Wild Ones (8-10pm). There will also be inflatables for the kids to enjoy as well as a food and bear tent by The Cookhouse. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
- Fairfield Fireworks Celebration: To join this celebration just come to Penfield and Jennings Beaches 323 Fairfield Beach Rd / 880 South Benson Rd, Fairfield CT. Music is provided from Swing to Samba from 5 – 7 PM at Jennings Beach. A Grucci Firework show will begin around 9:15 p.m.

Limo Companies going Mobile

Uber has shaken up the car service industry. Local taxi’s and limo companies have lost hundreds of drivers along with it’s clients to them. Now taking AllState Limo and a few other black-car companies are teaming to fight back with their own app.

Eduard Slinin, the owner and fleets founder of AllStae Limo, with more than 3,000 vehicles in Brooklyn is heading the launch of iRide Mobile for the New York market. Good news for other black car companies that are participating they’ll be able to use another software to create their own e-hail app the “white label.” The app was launched in July, and other limo companies can use the app for their customers.

Mr. Slinin stated “The most important thing: Every car company that operates in our market is going to be able to use iRide’s rates without gouging the public, and “Right now, if you’re utilizing Uber, most likely you’re going to get gouged.”

Uber, markets itself publicly cheaper than a taxi but it also appeals to the high-end users who arrange a ride through their smartphones for extra money. The same black-car and limo companies that cater to the same customers have been trying to keep with Uber since they launched two years ago in New York, with now the San Francisco tech firm is currently valued at $17 billion dollars.

Just like Uber, AllState’s along with its customers can hail, and track a black car or limo. Also users have the option to schedule a car for advance booking or choose a car on demand.

Uber, which is publicly accused of skirting the rules, Mr.Slinin stressed that his company is committed to its customers safety.

The Competitors of Uber have seized upon the labor issues that have come from Uber drivers and regulators, also continuing to insists that it holds its drivers to insurance and high standards for safety. Uber didn’t respond to the request for the comment for the bad press about its company and unreliable drivers.

Futbol Has Left, But Football is Coming

While fùtbol, or if soccer is preferred, madness kept the world entertained last month,
thanks due to the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, football, in no relation to fùtbol, is quickly
approaching.
There were a lot of people that attended this year’s World Cup. On average, there were
around 52,762 fans, IndiaTimes.com said. Thanks to social media access, “Brazil 2014 has
proved to be a social, mobile #WorldCup as more than a billion fans were able to #joinin across
FIFA’s official digital platforms,” FIFA said. So even if you were unfortunate to have not gone to
Brazil and party with the fans there, there were still other platforms which provided every fan
around the world the chance to experience the World Cup atmosphere. However, it is now over.
It will take four years until the next World Cup in Russia 2018, but it will only take one more
month until the NFL (National Football League) begins.
The season is set to kickoff Thursday, September 4th, with the tradition of the current title
holders, Seattle Seahawks, opening up the season against the Green Bay Packers at home. If you

this season. Now Seattle may be ways away and probably not a trip recommended to take via

“Making New York more affordable for the middle class starts with standing up for workers,” said Attorney General Schneiderman. “Employers must not take any portion of their employees’ tips. My office will prosecute those who engage in wage theft and fight to protect the hard-earned wages of everyday New Yorkers.”

Since 2008, the investigation revealed that Coachmaster was blatantly taking the tips for the drivers. However, not all companies work that way and it is not ethical to do something in this regard and then give other limo companies a bad name. Thus, they learned having to pay BACK $20,000 in restitution and $20,000 in civil penalty, totaling $40,000 all because people try and be greedy.
